Track #1 - Hopeful

I knew that I would need something big to open my first ever album with. While it’s probably not the most popular choice, I can’t imagine anything other than “Hopeful” at the beginning of the record.

While listening to the developer commentary, I heard Matt Christensen, the composer, mention how the soundtrack as a whole was inspired by Bill Evans. Specifically, his solo piano album “Alone”. When it came time for me to arrange the piece, I figured I would try swapping Bill Evans for one of my biggest heroes in the jazz world: Ray Brown. Thus, I sat down to create a fun, swinging arrangement for piano trio, and the entire concept for the album was born.
